A Community.
A Collective.
Who We Are
CREATING SAFE SPACES to learn and grow.
Black Woman Plant Chronicles (BWPC) offers a plethora of in-person and virtual workshops that encourage mindfulness and connecting with nature. Creating safe spaces to work together to learn how to care for our plants and grow our own herbs and food.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT of local agricultural spaces.
BWPC aims to build local green spaces where local plant lovers can interact and grow flowers, plants, and food. Starting with one community garden plot, BWPC aims to strengthen the sense of community in Toronto.

SUPPORTING AND EMPOWERING MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES.
With the growth of its community, BWPC aims to transform itself into a sustainable organization that gives back. Whether it is through donating a percentage of profits, or working with non-for-profits to host events that empower and support marginalized communities, BWPC is strongly engaged with the social issues that affect us the most.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I respectfully recognize the many Nations of Indigenous People who presently live on this stolen land (so called Canada), the presence of Indigenous peoples, both in the past, and present, as I commit to action, education, meaningful dialogue and necessary change.
It’s not a matter of saying the words but being committed in solidarity. I am committed to ongoing solidarity by signing petitions in solidarity, voting in solidarity, doing business in solidarity, volunteering, showing up & calling out in solidarity.
I acknowledge the many people of African descent who are not settlers but whose ancestors were forcibly displaced as part of the transatlantic slave trade, brought here against their will, and made to work on these lands.
I am grateful for the many significant contributions made by Indigenous peoples and Black Canadians.
I believe that advancing Indigenous sovereignty is deeply and inextricably linked to Black liberation and I remain committed to advancing both.
THANK YOU
"In addition to making the world a better place one plant at a time, we donate 1% of all sales to FoodShare.
Food Share is a justice organization, advocating for the right to food and working to challenge the systemic barriers that keep people from accessing food they need to thrive. FoodShare supports community-led food initiatives and work alongside communities most affected by poverty and food insecurity: Black and Indigenous people, people of colour, people with disabilities, and folks living on a low income. Whether it is supporting urban farms, subsidizing local produce markets or coordinating community kitchens, all of our work is about folks accessing food on their own terms."
